The Contest:
Members will earn 500 points every Saturday they participate in the $5,000 Derby Prep Challenge.
Members will select one horse in each of the Derby prep races listed above.
Entries will be available at the gate or at the Twin Spires Club center
Entries will be accepted until 15 minutes prior to the first contest race in each Saturday's contest at the Twin Spires Club center.
The official scheduled post time will be determined as published in the Daily Racing Form.
On each of the above listed races, members will compete for local Twin Spires Club points against the players at the local facility while competing for the grand prize against members at all facilities.
Members must circle the program number of the horse they would like to select on the contest entry form.
Members at each site will accumulate points on each of the listed races based on the position their selection finishes in the race. Selections will be awarded points on the following basis - Win 5 points - Place 3 points - Show 1 point
If a scratch occurs in any contest race, the actual post time favorite will be substituted for the scratched horse.
The post time favorite will be determined by the Win Pool at the host track.
If there is a dead-heat, the contestants will share the total points accumulated for each finishing position. For example: If there is a dead heat for win, both horses would earn four points each (5 win + 3 place/2 = 4). If there is a dead-heat for place, both horses would receive two points. If there is a dead-heat for show, both horses would earn ½ point.
The member with the maximum amount of points in the local participating site will be awarded 100,000 Twin Spires Club points at the end of the contest.
The local winners from each of the sites will then compete for the $5,000 grand prize against the winners from all participating sites.
The Grand Prize winner will be determined by the members across all participating locations with the most aggregate points.
If there is more than one Grand Prize winner with the highest amount of points, the prize money and the TSC points will be evenly split between all the winners.
